Welcome To Birdtail Shorthorns!
We are a family-owned operation located in the beautiful Birdtail Valley north of Rossburn, Mb. We have been in the cattle business for 36 years, raising commercial cattle with a Shorthorn influence. We liked that Shorthorn influence and in 2000 after closing our trail-ride operation we were excited to purchase a small number of purebred Shorthorn animals. We truly appreciate the help, friendliness and knowledge of breeders whom we have had the pleasure to meet.
Since 2000, our herd has grown and we strive to raise Shorthorn cattle that are easy-fleshing, productive and docile. Our animals are mainly forage-raised and summers find them grazing the rolling hills of native pasture. Our purebred cattle run with the commercial herd 12 months of the year. None are pampered! Visitors and inquiries are always welcome at Birdtail Shorthorns!
